You're here! Let's have some fun!

Welcome to The Windy City, The City of Big Shoulders, The Second City, The Fun Capital of the United States! Okay maybe we made up that last one, but it SHOULD be true. Here's a list of things to do in Chicago if you find yourself with some time to spare. These are all things that we've enjoyed, and we hope you do too!

Chicago Lakefront Path and Lincoln Park

Chicago's Lakefront Path is one of our favorite ways to enjoy the outdoors in Chicago. Whether you want to go for a sightseeing stroll along the lake, a long bike ride, or an early morning run; this is the place to do it! The path is easily accessible from downtown and runs 18 miles from the far north side to the south side along Lake Michigan. The path is paved and marked at 1/2 mile increments. It passes all of Chicago's harbors, the Lincoln Park Zoo, skyline views, Buckingham Fountain, the Shedd Aquarium, and Adler Planetarium.

Below is a PDF version of the lakefront path marked with points of interest.

Lincoln Park Zoo

This is definitely one of our favorite things to do on a sunny weekend. The best part about this zoo is that it's FREE! That's right folks, lions, tigers, bears, gorillas, seals, penguins, lizards, giraffes, and many more all supported by the City of Chicago and private donations. One of our favorite exhibits is the Center for African Apes, where you can get up close and personal with two families of gorillas and chimps. The zoo is located in Lincoln Park between Fullerton Ave and North Ave. Hours are from 10am-5pm, 7 days a week. Check out their website (Lincoln Park Zoo) for additional information about specific events and directions.

Second City Improv

This is where many of Saturday Night Live's players have trained and performed over the last 50 years. If you have the chance, this is a don't miss opportunity. The groom himself has performed on this stage twice! Here is the website for ticket information. Second City Improv
